Sathyan Anthikad's is once again back with his new film Bhagyadevata This Malayalam film is yet another masterpiece, after Sathyan Anthikad's super hit family entertainer Achuvinte Amma (2005), Rasathanthram (2006) and Vinodhayathra (2007). After a unexciting start, this family entertainer, Malayalam movie, set in the green background of Kerala's Kuttanad area, is now running house full in all theatres across the state.

Bhagyadevata’s storyline revolve around Benny (character of Jayaram), a farmer and local cable television operator in Kuttanad. Benny’s family has his widowed mother, two sisters Sali & Sophy, and his grandmother. In their life struggle, Benny often find himself on the losing side in many setbacks. Benny is continuously searching for venturing to some business that would make him financially strong. Benny's friend Sadanandan (Nedumuni Venu) gives him the idea of buying a used fishing boat. Toget finance for the boat, he also suggests that Benny should get married for a large dowry. Benny marries a state agriculture officer's daughter Daisy (Kanihaa) hopeful to get dowry of five Lakh rupees.

However, Daisy's father (Venu Nagavalli) fails to give amount on the day of marriage. He asks for a three months time. In the meantime, Daisy becomes the dear of his home, but Benny, who had intended things, based on the dowry and even paid an advance for a fishing boat, feels cheated and becomes distressed. He tells his wife that he will not approve the marriage unless he gets the money. Things take a different twist from that point.

Jayaram is indeed perfect for his role. cinematographer Venu and Ilayaraja has done a great job. Kanihaa looks perfect as a Christian girl from a rural surroundings, though her character has few dialogues in the movie. Most of Sathyan Anthikkad's trusted actors including Innocent, Mammukoya, K.P.A.C. Lalitha and Narein have perfect roles. Even the two girls who played the role of Jayaram's sisters and the owner of the fishing boat have performed well to make the movie perfect.

Yes Malayalam movie industry witnesses yet another thriller. Baburaj has came with this murder story and the movie is expected to be a trend maker in Malayalam cinema.
The director of the movie seems to have succeeded in extracting full potential of his actors. Pavithra performs the role of a trouble maker has done perfectly well. The performance delivered by the character Samantha who played the role of the head of the group is truly talented.

The director of this new Malayalam movie has premeditated his subject well. The suspense is also good. But the climax part could have been finished better. Special appearance of Remya Nambeeshan and Lakshmi Gopala swamy in song sequence is good even though it was unrelated in this new Malayalam film.

To conclude with, Black Dahlia, this new Malayalam movie is an average thriller. This investigative thriller malayalam movie has many resemblances with the Hollywood horror flick ‘I know what you did last summer’!.
